Adopt-a-Valentine
This Valentine's Day, Walsh County Farmers Union is inviting our community to help spread connection and care across generations.
For $10, you can "adopt" a senior living in a local nursing home or hospital. Each adopted senior will receive:
-A handmade Valentine created by local students
-Valentine-themed goodies
-A personal delivery from Walsh County Farmers Union
Your support helps remind our senior neighbors that they are seen, valued, and remembered- especially during the winter months when isolation can feel heavier.
Why This Matters
Connection is essential to mental health- especially in rural communities where distance, weather, and busy seasons can make isolation more common.
As a part of this project, community sponsors and participating students will receive access to a short video focused on:
-The importance of connection in rural life
-How small acts of care can make a real difference
-Why showing up for one another matters at every age
This project is about more than Valentines, it's strengthening the fabric of our community.
**Walsh County Farmers Union will personally deliver Valentines to area nursing homes and hospitals. Sponsorships are symbolic and support the overall project. Every sponsorship helps cover Valentine supplies, and care items. If you would like to help deliver Valentines or have any questions, please reach out to Cate via text at 701-270-5007.**
Ag Career & Build-a-Business Night
Ag Career & Build-a-Business Night brings together students, adults, and local agricultural and rural business leaders for an evening of learning, conversation, and idea-sharing. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore career paths in agriculture, connect with local businesses, and learn what it takes to start and grow a business in a rural community. Youth activities will be available, making this a family-friendly event designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection across generations.
Farmer’s Share Meal
The Farmers Share Meal is a community meal focused on connection, gratitude, and sharing local food. Join Walsh County Farmers Union at the Park River Farmers Market for a welcoming meal that brings neighbors together, celebrates local producers, and highlights the importance of community in rural life. Everyone is welcome at the table.
